Butt Implants or Buttock Lifts – Which is The Right Choice For You

Both butt implants and buttock lifts are popular procedures to give a sculpted look and feel to the buttocks. Many a times, that great behind that you are admiring is not a result of a great deal of effort on the part of the person but the surgeon who performs these procedures.

Whether butt implants or buttock lifts are good for you is completely dependent on your preference. There are specific risks associated with both, which needs to be taken note of and then a decision needs be taken.

Butt implants

Butt implants are not unlike breast implants in the sense that they typically use silicone implants for butt enhancement. And they are available in a variety of shapes. The popularity of the butt implants also stems from the fact that they can be customised.

Butt implants also go by the name of buttock augmentation. Typically, an incision, 3 inches in length is usually made to create a pocket. This pocket is made in the midline of the buttocks. The positioning of the solid silicone implants is such that it lies between the muscle and the fat. The main buttock muscle is also the preferred area for the insertion of the silicone implants. This 2 to 3 hour process offers shape and symmetry to the buttocks.

All medical procedures involve a degree of risk. Butt implants also have various associated risks like shifting of the implants post surgery. A person might also develop infection and many a times excessive bleeding can also occur as a result of butt implants. You might also need to undergo a revision surgery if the butt implants are not symmetrical.

A buttock lift

A buttock lift is a process wherein excess fat and skin are removed from the buttocks. This is generally done to lift sagging buttocks. What this does is that it not only improves upon the look and feel of the buttocks but it also adds shape to the whole lower area of the body. A cosmetic surgeon performs a buttock lift by making a hip to hip incision along the lower back. The excess skin is then pulled upwards to bring about a buttock lift.

When it comes to a buttock lift, a person might develop pain. This pain can be treated using medications. Also, as a part of the healing process, patients are asked to wear abdominal binders for around a month and half. Their role is to help prevent the building up of fluids and also support the healing process.
